Full description

This guided walking tour takes you through Lower Antelope Canyon with a Navajo guide, who shares the culture, geology, and botany of the region as you go.

Your tour begins with a short 10-minute walk from the check-in booth to the canyon entrance. The trail is made of Navajo sandstone, so the way down to the entrance is both rocky and sandy.

From there, the whole adventure is on foot, covering roughly 1,800 meters (1.1 miles) round trip in a single loop. First, you'll descend five flights of stairs, about 35 meters, into the largest cavern of the tour. Then your ascent begins, through a kaleidoscope of color in the Navajo sandstone, which rain, wind, sun, and erosion have shaped into a variety of formations.

The canyon rises through several levels, and eight specially built ladders with handrails help you move between them safely.
